※There is no enrollment fee.

  • 1.Consumption tax, the cost for learning materials, and postage costs from the instructor/ French, German and Japanese Language Team to students are included in the monthly tuition. The postage costs from the student to the instructor shall be covered by the student.
  • 2.The tuition fee for every month in the Japanese school year (April 1 to March 31) is determined by the age you turn in that school year.
  • 3.No extra charge is necessary for the online reading lessons.

Enrollment Procedures

In the correspondence course, the month of enrollment and your instructor are decided after your payment is confirmed and the starting level of worksheets are determined.

Fee Payment and the Diagnostic Test

    Make your payment.

    You can register your credit card at enrollment or in the Student's Page after enrollment.

    • 1.After we receive your application online, we will send a “Tuition Fee Payment Slip” to your registered address.
    • 2.Make the payment at a convenience store using the slip.

    Please pay one-month tuition of the Correspondence Course as your initial payment.

    Conduct Diagnostic Test → Deciding the starting worksheet level

    A. If you know some Japanese

    • 1.We will send the Diagnostic Test to your registered address.
    • 2.Take the Diagnostic Test and send it back using the enclosed return envelope.
    • 3.The instructor will determine the starting level appropriate for you based on your results in the test.

    B. If you are a total beginner

    If you answered all "none" for Hiragana, Katanaka and Kanji, to all of the sections in the "Japanese language proficiency" part of the online application form, we will not send you the Diagnostic Test. As your starting point will be the first level of the program (level 4A).

    ※You don't have to take the Diagnostic Test.

    ※NOTE: If you complete all of the above enrollment procedure between the 1st to 20th of each month, you will be able to begin your study the following month. If you complete the procedure after the 20 of the month, you will be able to begin your study in the month after the following month.

    ※Tuition Fee Payment Slip will not be available after its expiration date. If you do not make the payment before its expiration date, your enrollment application will be cancelled.

  • 1.The monthly tuition includes the cost for learning materials and consumption tax.
  • 2.The tuition fee for every month in the Japanese school year (April 1 to March 31) is determined by the age you turn in that school year.
  • 3.Each month’s tuition has to be paid to the class instructor before the month starts. The instructor will inform you of the payment method.

Enrollment Procedures

The enrollment procedures for the class course are to be completed at the Center that you wish to enroll in.

    Choose the Center you wish to attend and make a visit

    If possible, please make an appointment with the instructor in advance to confirm when you can visit the Center.

  2. 02

    Listen to an explanation of the program

    At the Center, the instructor will explain to you about the learning method and materials of the Kumon Japanese Language Program.

  3. 03

    Take the Diagnostic Test

    Based on your test result and experience in studying Japanese, the instructor will decide your starting point, or the first worksheets you will study.

  4. 04

    Fill in the Application Form, pay the fee for the enrollment month, and other procedures

    Please pay the monthly tuition in the method designated by your Center.

    ※You may be requested to pay by automatic withdrawal from your bank account.

    ※You may be requested to pay the tuition for the enrollment month in cash at the time of the enrollment procedures.
