EXHIBITS

Built in 1982,the museum building was originally the private residence of Toru Kumon, before being converted into a museum in October 1998.The museum's prize exhibit is a selection of the original worksheets that Toru Kumon made by hand for his son Takeshi, which formed the basis for the Kumon worksheets in use today. We welcome visitors to tour the museum to learn about the essence of Kumon and take time to contemplate ideal education.

Takeshi Kumon’s Study

The treasured possessions of the first Kumon student and former president of the Kumon Group, Takeshi Kumon, are on display in this room—his former study. Takeshi was a lifelong learner who continually challenged himself. He undoubtedly developed his proactive approach to learning new things through his experiences of self-learning as the first Kumon student.
