Correspondence Course
Not being able to attend classes doesn’t prevent you from studying Japanese with Kumon. If, for example, the class times don’t fit your schedule, or you live far away from a Kumon center, don’t give up! You can study Japanese at your convenience with Kumon’s correspondence course using the same material as used in class. Following the Student Guide you will be able to communicate with your instructor about your study.
Through Kumon’s correspondence course, you can study Japanese at your own pace:
Feedback from students in Kumon’s correspondence course
When work prevented me from going to language school, a friend told me about Kumon’s correspondence course. He was a director of a company―a busy man, needless to say―and a father of two children. Regardless of his busy life, he spent a lot of time studying Japanese through Kumon. After seeing that Kumon allowed him to study Japanese at his own pace, I began Kumon too. At first, I did not think that I would complete the Japanese program. Actually having done so, I feel that I have worked hard. I would like to move on to the Kokugo program and work hard till the end.

Although the minimal amount of Japanese I learned in Brazil helped me in my daily life, I relied on my company’s translator when I had to use Japanese for more complex things. Therefore, I did not feel it necessary to study Japanese further. However, the recession that arrived in 2008 made it difficult for me to find a job. I began to feel the need to study the reading and writing of Japanese including kanji. I chose the Kumon study method. I can study based on my own schedule and the learning materials are easy to understand. I am deeply thankful for my teacher’s encouragement and support that have allowed me to complete the final level of the Japanese program.
