Built in 1982,the museum building was originally the private residence of Toru Kumon,before being converted into a museum in October 1998.The museum's prize exhibit is a selection of the original worksheets that Toru Kumon made by hand for his son Takeshi,which formed the basis for the Kumon worksheets in use today. We welcome visitors to tour the museum to learn about the essence of Kumon and take time to contemplate ideal education.

The History of Kumon

The documents and photographs on display in this section of the museum recount the history of the development of the Kumon company from the time of its establishment in 1958. Here visitors can gain an understanding of Toru Kumon’s visionary leadership and his unwavering dedication to providing quality education through the Kumon Method.
