Class Course

A Kumon class is neither a lecture-style class nor a group lesson. Instead, each student works on his or her own, in class and at home, on learning materials selected for his or her current Japanese ability. Students go to their Kumon center twice a week (recommended) to study under the guidance of the instructor and to receive feedback. On other days they do daily assignments at home. In Kumon's class course you can continue to advance every day!

Study Procedure in Class

• The instructor helps to make students’ study more effective. The instructor grades worksheets and checks students’ pronunciation and fluency. By doing so, the instructor comes to recognize each student’s successes and struggles, enabling the instructor to tailor the work assignments to the student’s needs.
• Kumon centers are open two days a week for several hours a day (usually in the afternoon). It is recommended that students attend classes twice a week (class study takes about an hour). Class days and times vary depending on the Kumon center.
